The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) is a premier

and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare.
Established in 1973, ASRB is responsible for recruiting scientists and
other officers for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Established as a single-member body in 1973, the Board was
restructured in 1986 to comprise one chairman and two members. In
2018, the ASRB was delinked from ICAR, reconstituted with one
chairman and three members, and designated as an Attached Office

The establishment of ASRB was a recommendation of a ministerial
committee chaired by ShriFakhruddin Ali Ahmed, the then Minister
of Agriculture, appointed by the Prime Minister to oversee the
reorganization of ICAR. The Cabinet approved the establishment of
ASRB on November 1, 1973.
